After being introduced to this "viking chess" game by friends in Denmark, I knew I wanted to introduce this to friends in the US. It is quickly gaining popularity in the United States because of its wonderful mix of throwing skill, strategy, and luck. It has been compared to "Horseshoes, Bocce, and Cornhole all rolled into one great game". Kubb is easy to learn to play and can be played with 2-12 players to accommodate large or small groups. 5 small kubbs are set up on each end of a field with the king in the middle. Teams take turns throwing the batons to knock down the kubbs leaving the king to be knocked down last. Kubb can be played on grass, sand, concrete, gravel and even snow.
This is a full-size game based on the dimensions for regulation play according to the U.S. National Kubb Championship. The measurements are as follows:
King: 30cm x 8.5cm x 8.5cm (11 13/16in x 3 3/8in x 3 3/8in)
Kubbs: 15cm x 7cm x 7cm (5 7/8in x 2 3/4in x 2 3/4in)
Batons: 30cm x 4.4cm (11 13/16in x 1 3/4in)
Corner Stakes: 30cm x 1.6cm (11 13/16in x 5/8in)
The king and the kubbs are all made from douglas fir and the batons and corner stakes are poplar. This set comes with a laminated rules sheet and a bag for easy carrying.
It is a natural product so color and grain may vary from the listing picture and small knots and splits may be present.
All pieces are sanded smooth and all sharp edges are given a 1/4" roundover.
Variations:
Standard - This set will be clear of large knots and imperfections.
Blemished - This set will have appearance issues such as large knots that do not in any way affect game play. Photo of blemished blocks is representative of the blocks you will receive and will not be these exact blocks.

Ordered three sets of the Kubb game (2 gift, 1 to keep). They are GREAT quality! The canvas tote bag is sturdy-I even personalized it. The game pieces were exactly as described and when compared to sets on "other" sites, could you tell the quality was MUCH better. Pieces were finely sanded and sharp edges were taken off. Looking forward to lots of fun summer evenings Turnaround time (for me, ordered around Thanksgiving) was super fast and Nick was very responsive when I emailed him a couple of questions about packaging. One of the three packages got lost in shipping and Nick was right there getting things squared away so I had all my order as quickly as possible. Great product, great seller!

This Kubb game is great. It’s full-sized ( unlike most commercial Kubb games) and as soon as I opened the box I was immediately delighted by the elegant rounded edge on the top piece. I got the knot-free version and I’m really pleased with the set. Especially at the price, it’s a great set.
